This site will act as a gateway to the McGaan Family mailing list. To help keep the McGaan clan connected through the internet we have set up a mailing list at YahooGroups (a division of the search engine Yahoo). When you join this mailing list you are encouraged to send in an e-mail with the subject of "introduction" and tell a bit about how you fit into the McGaan clan. The McGaan mailing list membership is open to anyone who would be welcome at a McGaan family reunion, so encourage your family members to join the list. Even if they do not feel like contributing it is lots of fun to see the extended family talk. Speaking of talk, to keep the list more exciting than a bowl of lukewarm left over haggis you are encouraged to use the mailing list to share news about your branch of the McGaan clan, and share your unique memories that are part of the tapestry of the McGaan family. You will also be able to share pictures and other historical documents. The one thing you are discouraged from sending out to the list are forwarded jokes. To sign up for this e-mail list there are two ways to do it: 1 - If you already have a Yahoo.com account all you need to do is visit this link http://groups.yahoo.com/group/McGaan/join and follow the prompts 2 - If you do NOT have a yahoo.com account you can use the same link http://groups.yahoo.com/group/McGaan/join BUT you need to take an extra step. Near the bottom of the right hand column of the page the http://groups.yahoo.com/group/McGaan/join link brings you to you will see: Don't have a Yahoo! ID? Signing up is easy. Sign Up You will then need to click on the "Sign Up" there and follow the (relatively) easy steps to sign up to Yahoo.com, at that point you will be directed to a page where you can join the mailing list. Please note: To protect the McGaan family members from spammers ALL memberships to the mailing list will be approved by the list moderators who are currently Kristy & Joe Brandon, Kristy is the daughter of Lynn (Mcgaan) Knox. You will not be able to send a message to the list until your membership address is approved (which should be within half a day at the longest). |
